The institute excursion to the Daimler Truck manufacturing plant in Wörth offered an illustrative insight into industrial practice. In particular, concepts taught in solid mechanics and applied materials theory could be observed and understood in the context of real manufacturing processes.

The Institute of Mechanics once again invited its student assistants to the annual barbecue.
